I am on sabbatical and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis throughout the 2022-2023 academic year. If you're on campus come say hi!

Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Rochester. I study American politics and quantitative methodology. My substantive research interests fall into three substantive areas:

Voting Rights and Representation: How did Southern political elites react to the enfranchisement of Black citizens? What has happened to voting rights since the Supreme Court weakened the Voting Rights Act?

Immigration and Political Incorporation: Does living under autocratic regimes leave a political imprint on the immigrants who leave and resettle in the United States?  How are political identities reshaped after migration?

Policing: Who are the people that make up the enforcement arm of local government? How do they compare to the citizens they serve? Do their politics affect the way they do their jobs?

I received my Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University in 2019.
